What To Wear On Your Next Getaway

what to wear for summer in d.c.

This past week I decided to take a daycation to Washington D.C. I had never been so I was super excited to immerse myself into the D.C. city feels and site see in true tourist fashion. We arrived late evening and immediately checked into our room at The Beacon Hotel & Corporate Quarters. And the stay was luxurious!

The Beacon Hotel is located close to the city center so getting around D.C. for the day was a dream as everything seemed to be in walking distance or just a 10 minute ride away. Our trip involved mostly eating. lol! So we dined and dined and then dined again. Because the weather was amazing the night we arrived we went to have dinner at City Tap where the food was superb!

For my look, I rocked a plaid wrapped skirt that I  thrifted recently and paired it with my lace plaid tank top. This look works because the contrasting colors of the top and skirt makes it look as if the entire outfit is some sort of cool color block dress! I love outfits that are unintentional however very effortlessly intentional once paired well. Ha! Lately I haven't skimped on accessories so stacked on as many as my little wrist could take. My black sequined bag is currently my summer favorite and adds character to any look.

The next day which was our main day of exploration begin with breakfast/lunch at Beacon Bar & Grill which was located inside our hotel. After lunch it begin to rain profusely but that didn't slow us down one bit from our goal of seeing all the monuments.

We got soaked but loved every moment of our D.C. experience and currently planning our next trip there. If you have any recommendation on what we should checkout  next time we're there please drop them below!
