Spring Time Blues

Aside from yesterdays randomness of drinking a canned beer with a straw at a... get this, beer event.  I perhaps looked like the biggest queen of the bourgeois clan at you know an actual beer event were normal folks unlike myself drink it straight from the can. Cue the proper emoji please 👉🏾🤦🏾‍♀️. Yes I know sometimes I fail at the smallest task in life. Haha and the other day was one of many. But that's okay I'll crawl into my rabbit hole and pretend I didn't just shame myself in front of the 20's something year olds who probably could care less how I partake in drinking beer. What can I say I'm a huge germaphobe at best! Aside from my lack of blending in and unfollowing the rules, I decided to blend out and sport a blue monochromatic number.

While the weather is still adjusting I'm opting to wear lighter weight sweaters in lieu of my heavier Winter ones. So I paired my sweater with a true blue cropped denim pant. Since we can't quite retire the coats. I pulled on my favorite coat of the season this teal number I've been loving and wearing nonstop since the start of Winter.

I've been noting all the trends during Spring/Summer fashion week everywhere and decided to try one out with this look. Colored tights were seen on every runway imaginable during New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion week. I decided to settle for a sheer red pair embellished with a cool diamond print running along the front. Nothing says Spring like white booties so here we are.

What do you think of this look? Will you be trying any new Spring Trends? Let me know in the comments below and have a great weekend! :-)

For my look I decided to rock metallic across the board which made for a pretty flashy outfit combo. An ode to Silver Surfer meets Galactic fashion robot bot thingy. ( Stay with me here lol) Styling joggers just became that much easier, adding a white button down instantly dresses the joggers up for a more polished look. I layered a flannel print vest for a little more warmth. Then topped the look off with my favorite coat this season by Samuel Dong. The layers of ruffle flaps makes this outerwear piece the ultimate statement jacket. Wouldn't you agree?

Gurls Talk X Coach x Teen Vogue

On Sundays agenda entailed none other then being present at the very first U.S. instillation that is Gurls Talk founded by none other then the remarkable  Adwoa Aboah and her bestfriend Holly Gore. Adwoa otherwise known as the fire breathing dragon woman who is voicing change, promoting inclusivity, creating judgement free spaces all while juggling a career as a burgeoning badass super model!

As expected the event in collaboration with Coach and Teen Vogue was hella lit! (pardon my French) . There were various panel discussion,  one favorite of mine being the conversation lead by Paloma Elselsser on "Body Positivity". It's great that there are refreshing spaces and discussion circled on this particular topic in an "Instagram Era"  where accepting ones flaws and truly loving the skin you're in  can be challenging. From endless scrolling through your feed seeing pictures that seem to promote "the picture perfect life and body" can be daunting. And so it's nice too see our favorite influencers and change makers let us in on a few real life gems!

Let's be clear. I no longer miss an opportunity to hear Paloma Elsesser speak on panels. I've now seen her do so twice. Her rawness, beauty and authenticity always leave me blown away.

Mariah Idrissi

Can we just say a big "Thank you" to Mariah Idrissi for her popping highlighter and for propelling the "Race" panel discussion.

And then Janaya Khan goes ham on the conversation which sends the room applauding for a flat 30 min at minimum. Which leaves me wondering where is this human from and how did we get so lucky to sit in her presence? #Future

Alewya Demmisse

The day carried on with discussions on race, mental health, sexuality and much more. Ending with a performance by  Alewya Demmisse and a dance party to shake things up. I left that Sunday with my heart full and spirit lifted knowing that a community no matter class, race, or background could come togther and unite on subjects that we've all had to face in some form, shape or fashion.

Much LOVE to all the beautiful souls behind Gurls Talk! xoxo
