BREAKING NEWS! New York Is Alive!!!

News broke New York will finally be experiencing high temperatures. Just a few days ago temps in NYC soared to the 70's and in some places it hit 80 degrees. Breakout the shorts, skirts, dresses, and tanks it's time to catch some rays and soak in the vitamin D. Yay!

With good weather comes lots of exploring the city. I took the day to walk around Dumbo near the waterfront and in and out the cute neighborhoods nestled in it. What other way to show good weather appreciation then with your classic Spring/Summer staple the "denim jacket". I paired it with a floral embroidered leather mini skirt and my favorite Zara boot. I wore a simple white tank underneath and finished the look with my red shoulder bag which I found thrifting.

What are your favorite areas to explore in NYC? List them below, I'd love to check them out.

How To Nail A Monochromatic Outfit

Finally the weather in New York gave us a break with temperatures hitting the 70's. Cue in the crop top please! I ceased the moment to get out of a sweater. Finally! And reached for the nearest crop in arms length. You'll catch me rocking this exact top all through Spring and Summer as its the perfect transition shade ever.

With warm temperatures out I still played it safe by pairing the look with my high wasted khaki denim pants. I layered a matching light weight khaki jacket on top for a little monochromatic moment.

I layered a matching light weight khaki jacket on top for a little monochromatic moment. I love the cropped yet boxy feel of the jacket and how it too is a great transition piece. With Spring only a few weeks away I'm prepping slightly early with light weight jackets I can use as layers in Winter and stand alone pieces in the Spring/Summer months.

To break up the monochromatic feel of this outfit I chose my newest purchase, these violet booties which I caught on sale at Zara for only $20. Yes you heard correctly. They were the last pair left in store. Just when I couldn't find anything I direly wanted upon exiting "BOOM" goes these babies hidden under a shelf on the floor!

I spent this lovely day roaming around the Meatpacking district with Britt! You can check her out here for even more style posts!

Be sure to come back for more style posts throughout the week! Have a great day! :-)

Recently I've been incorporating more minimal pieces into my wardrobe. Partially because it really makes getting dressed in the mornings more efficient when you don't have to choose between a hundred shirts. You can always revert back to a minimal/neutral color palette to get things moving along.

I've recently been inspired by the elegant style of french women wardrobes. They are neutral, modern, classic, tailored, easy and effortlessly chic. I love a casual outfit formula I can always repeat and still look timeless. French women style seem to have a certain "je ne sais quoi" I keep graviating towards.

I honestly can't get enough of wearing culottes (remember when I styled them here), sometimes I feel I live in them as I've worn them so much. That's when you know your money is well invested. Ha! Pairing a striped shirt with this look just seem to make since as it's a French girl staple shirt among others. I took an evening bag and tied a bandanna scarf around the strap for that lux factor with a bit of edge. I pulled the look together with a snake-print pointed flat and a minimal pair of gold earrings to finish the look.

This look was perfect for discovering new cafe's and strolling through the park. Do you like this Parisian inspired look? Let me know in the comments below.
