How To Instantly Elevate Your Outfit

I've found that pairing gold with everything is not only chic but a great way to elevate your style game. Things took a turn when all of my favorite silver accessories begin to pop out at me too.

The original formula for this look started with my gold blouse. Although I still wanted to remain casual I went for my color block  denim skirt that never fails to pull everything together.

My bag from Ebay had just arrived and I was more then anxious to test drive it. My studded strappy sandals gave the outfit an extra embellishment.

After shimmying around in this blouse I decided it was time to test drive the look and what I discovered was that it's still too hot to wear this blouse. Can we say "HOT BOX"! This blouse left me wallowing in my own fashion sweat. I want lie I rushed home to take it off immediately. Such a rookie mistake to challenge the sun to a match. It won fair and square. lol! My next post however will be #ootd number two. A more subtle and less fussy look compared to the topper on this.

As summer sketches to an end I'll be sure to rework this blouse on a much cooler day. After all the shirt had me at first sight. :-)

This Crochet Dress Made Heads Turn!

summer crochet dress

The moment I laid eyes on this crochet midi dress I knew it would be worn to pieces all summer long. It is the perfect shade of blue and how about the ventilation system for criss sakes. It keeps getting better, cool breeze approved! Although the dress speaks volumes on its own. I couldn't help but add to every detail by pairing the look with lots of standout accessories. I've been in thrift shops a lot lately and this sequined black bag and assortment of  bangles are proof of my love for thrifting. It always warm my heart to find these little gems nestled in small corners of the thrift shop.

I wore a lace green bralette underneath the crochet dress because of the extreme low cut front and for a day filled with walking I pulled out my monogram Fendi wedges that are insanely comfortable to walk in.

I spent the day walking around my favorite neighborhood. Dumbo, of course! We had a small picnic near the water and later dinner in soho followed. This outfit with from day to night without any problems.

Drop some of your favorite summer spots below. Im eager to explore some new neighborhoods!

BREAKING NEWS! New York Is Alive!!!

News broke New York will finally be experiencing high temperatures. Just a few days ago temps in NYC soared to the 70's and in some places it hit 80 degrees. Breakout the shorts, skirts, dresses, and tanks it's time to catch some rays and soak in the vitamin D. Yay!

With good weather comes lots of exploring the city. I took the day to walk around Dumbo near the waterfront and in and out the cute neighborhoods nestled in it. What other way to show good weather appreciation then with your classic Spring/Summer staple the "denim jacket". I paired it with a floral embroidered leather mini skirt and my favorite Zara boot. I wore a simple white tank underneath and finished the look with my red shoulder bag which I found thrifting.

What are your favorite areas to explore in NYC? List them below, I'd love to check them out.

Spring Time Blues

Aside from yesterdays randomness of drinking a canned beer with a straw at a... get this, beer event.  I perhaps looked like the biggest queen of the bourgeois clan at you know an actual beer event were normal folks unlike myself drink it straight from the can. Cue the proper emoji please 👉🏾🤦🏾‍♀️. Yes I know sometimes I fail at the smallest task in life. Haha and the other day was one of many. But that's okay I'll crawl into my rabbit hole and pretend I didn't just shame myself in front of the 20's something year olds who probably could care less how I partake in drinking beer. What can I say I'm a huge germaphobe at best! Aside from my lack of blending in and unfollowing the rules, I decided to blend out and sport a blue monochromatic number.

While the weather is still adjusting I'm opting to wear lighter weight sweaters in lieu of my heavier Winter ones. So I paired my sweater with a true blue cropped denim pant. Since we can't quite retire the coats. I pulled on my favorite coat of the season this teal number I've been loving and wearing nonstop since the start of Winter.

I've been noting all the trends during Spring/Summer fashion week everywhere and decided to try one out with this look. Colored tights were seen on every runway imaginable during New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion week. I decided to settle for a sheer red pair embellished with a cool diamond print running along the front. Nothing says Spring like white booties so here we are.

What do you think of this look? Will you be trying any new Spring Trends? Let me know in the comments below and have a great weekend! :-)

After what seem like undoubtedly the longest Winter ever has finally shined a little light on a grand Easter Sunday. Hoped everyone enjoyed their day because I certainly did. My Sunday started off with a stroll around the financial district near the river to take in some great views with my lovely. We arrived just in time to see the  beginning of the sunset. We decided to grab a cappuccino and pastry then commenced to take in the view from the comfort of the Brookfield mall that over looks the Hudson. After enjoying a beautiful sunset, we trotted off to Matro's Restaurant for an unbelievable dinner that left us rubbing our belly's. Food baby in full affect, no shame here! If you ever visit Matro's be sure to go during the live performance time if possible. From the food, service, ambiance, and songtress our Sunday ended on the loveliest of notes.

How did you enjoy your Sunday? Comment below! :-)

Remember that one warm day we had last week? Well, I had my first Spring look ready to go with this lavender wrap top. I teamed the top with my navy and pink pinstripe skirt for a fun yet flirty look. There's not an opportunity I don't miss to wear my fav metallic bag that seems to pair well with just about everything!

And once again my new fav babies! These violet booties I've worn just about everyday since purchasing them a few weeks back! I can see myself purchasing a second pair for backup in the foreseeable future. (Is that OD? lmk lol!)

What better way to enjoy a rare Spring-like day in the middle of Winter then to trot around meatpacking with a fellow blogger babe grabbing latte's and catching-up on life!

Hope everyone is enjoying there day and be sure to come back for more outfit inspo! :-)

How To Nail A Monochromatic Outfit

nyc street style

Finally the weather in New York gave us a break with temperatures hitting the 70's. Cue in the crop top please! I ceased the moment to get out of a sweater. Finally! And reached for the nearest crop in arms length. You'll catch me rocking this exact top all through Spring and Summer as its the perfect transition shade ever.

With warm temperatures out I still played it safe by pairing the look with my high wasted khaki denim pants. I layered a matching light weight khaki jacket on top for a little monochromatic moment.

outfit of the day

I layered a matching light weight khaki jacket on top for a little monochromatic moment. I love the cropped yet boxy feel of the jacket and how it too is a great transition piece. With Spring only a few weeks away I'm prepping slightly early with light weight jackets I can use as layers in Winter and stand alone pieces in the Spring/Summer months.

To break up the monochromatic feel of this outfit I chose my newest purchase, these violet booties which I caught on sale at Zara for only $20. Yes you heard correctly. They were the last pair left in store. Just when I couldn't find anything I direly wanted upon exiting "BOOM" goes these babies hidden under a shelf on the floor!

I spent this lovely day roaming around the Meatpacking district with Britt! You can check her out here for even more style posts!

Be sure to come back for more style posts throughout the week! Have a great day! :-)

The Coolest Winter Coat That Actually Keeps You Warm

There's so many things I love about Fashion but at the top of my list would be the fact that Fashion holds no boundries. Like how a snake sheds its skin or how a cateplllar propels into a butterfly is the very reason why I love the world of fashion. One could recreate themselves over and over again and it could still look beautiful each time!

This day in fashion is courtesy of onlline shopping, family discount stores, and an ex-boyfriend keen sense of style... Lol!

I stumbled upon this lime green turtleneck and leather paper bag pants (which totally are the wave) at a discount store in Harlem. The shoes were a purchase online from Boohoo during the holidays A.K.A crazy sale season and A.K.A bank account over drawn. Haha!

This beautiful statement coat is from the H&M X Kenzo collaboration again from the Ex with the good taste. You can also see how I styled it in this post too!

I'm not your conventional shopper these days. I collect my beloved pieces from whatever store, website, and person that enters my sight. We are a team that way. If my heart goes thump thump X 3 then that lil baby is mine. Hello new addition!

Now thatI've spilled a little about my shopping habits, what are some of the ways you like to shop? Comment below and have a great day peeps! :-)

Get The Look...

This coat has easily became my favorite of all time. I found it a few weeks back at a sample sale while roaming around the Garment District here in NYC. The color instantly grasped my attention and since it's purchase I've been wearing it nonstop. So much so I've even forgotten what my other coats look like. This coat simply goes with everything and acts almost like a neutral with my wardrobe of course! I've linked a similar coat above.

Like any shopping day I couldn't pass up an opportunity to add more pink to my wardrobe. A woman can never have too much pink! So I picked up this hot pink sweater from H&M. It's ridiculously soft and the perfect pop of color to take your outfit to the next level.

The pants were also a no-brainer for me as I was drawn to the unusual asymmetrical crop and flare. I'll be wearing them a lot, all season long!
