Hello! I'm Back From Japan And It Was A Dream!

Hi yah! I'm back from vacay and it honestly feels great to be back in the city although being in Tokyo felt like I never left it! Japan was amazing and I can't wait to share with you all the photos and perhaps a short vlog about the entire trip. It was definitely a trip for the books and one I can't wait to take again.

While I was away the annual Met Gala happened and this years Met Gala 2018 theme was, "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination." After seeing all the celebs embodying the theme so gracefully I raced to see the exhibit a couple days thereafter. If you have time I would definitely stop by the Metropolitan Museum to check it out. After the museum we then spent some time walking around Central Park, then the city, stopping to take in  the views and smell the flowers. Spring time in NYC is always the best, the place feels magical that way.

Because the weather was so lovely I wore my white sheer shirt dress paired with a cream slip dress underneath. I picked up this white satchel crossbody while in Kobe, Japan for just under $5 from a random discount store. The entire look felt light and airy, easy for moving about the city.

Take It Up A Notch For Spring

The flowers are blooming and I spent the day galavanting around the Natural History Museum.

Note: Hitting one of the busiest museums midday is always a great idea. No line, no problem and lots of room to explore at your leisure.

I'm cold by nature (pun totally intended lol) and I refuse to be fooled by the finicky weather here. Yesterday it was warm enough to sport my black turtleneck with my burgundy and black bomber. I feel I was more excited about my hair matching my bomber, almost creating an accidental monochromatic moment. Don't yah think? Well I stopped right there and added my white high-waist paper bag trousers. Remember when I styled them with pastels in this post here?

I have my red leather tote on repeat. Almost! Unfortunately the handle disagreed with my clinginess and parted ways. Yep the bag is done for now! 😭

Comment below your favorite way to style a bomber. Have a great day! :-)

Remember that one warm day we had last week? Well, I had my first Spring look ready to go with this lavender wrap top. I teamed the top with my navy and pink pinstripe skirt for a fun yet flirty look. There's not an opportunity I don't miss to wear my fav metallic bag that seems to pair well with just about everything!

And once again my new fav babies! These violet booties I've worn just about everyday since purchasing them a few weeks back! I can see myself purchasing a second pair for backup in the foreseeable future. (Is that OD? lmk lol!)

What better way to enjoy a rare Spring-like day in the middle of Winter then to trot around meatpacking with a fellow blogger babe grabbing latte's and catching-up on life!

Hope everyone is enjoying there day and be sure to come back for more outfit inspo! :-)

How To Nail A Monochromatic Outfit

nyc street style

Finally the weather in New York gave us a break with temperatures hitting the 70's. Cue in the crop top please! I ceased the moment to get out of a sweater. Finally! And reached for the nearest crop in arms length. You'll catch me rocking this exact top all through Spring and Summer as its the perfect transition shade ever.

With warm temperatures out I still played it safe by pairing the look with my high wasted khaki denim pants. I layered a matching light weight khaki jacket on top for a little monochromatic moment.

outfit of the day

I layered a matching light weight khaki jacket on top for a little monochromatic moment. I love the cropped yet boxy feel of the jacket and how it too is a great transition piece. With Spring only a few weeks away I'm prepping slightly early with light weight jackets I can use as layers in Winter and stand alone pieces in the Spring/Summer months.

To break up the monochromatic feel of this outfit I chose my newest purchase, these violet booties which I caught on sale at Zara for only $20. Yes you heard correctly. They were the last pair left in store. Just when I couldn't find anything I direly wanted upon exiting "BOOM" goes these babies hidden under a shelf on the floor!

I spent this lovely day roaming around the Meatpacking district with Britt! You can check her out here for even more style posts!

Be sure to come back for more style posts throughout the week! Have a great day! :-)
